FAQs

Q:  Why do I need X-rays?

A:  X-Rays are needed periodically to check for cavities in between teeth and around existing dental work.  With today’s digital technology, images are easier to read and radiation exposure is reduced to a minimum.

A:  Yes, Dr. Yee must examine your mouth periodically to catch any problems that might be in the beginning stages.

Q:  Will treatment hurt?

A:  Not at all.  Dr. Yee has such a gentle touch, the patients comfort is the highest priority.

Q:  I am really nervous and have a high fear of the dentist.

A:  No Problem.  In addition to our friendly staff who make you feel right at home, we offer headphones for music, as well as Nitrous Oxide and other medications to help you relax, upon request.

Q:  What is the difference between a crown and a veneer/onlay/inlay?

A:  Veneers retain more of your natural tooth structure just as onlays and inlays do.  Crowns cover your entire tooth much like a hat covers your head.

Q:  Do you offer financing options, if so what are they?

A:  Yes, we offer two financing options they are Care Credit and Lending Club (previously Springstone Financing).   If you are interested in more information regarding these options call our office we will be glad to answer any questions you may have.

Q:  Do you accept insurance?

A:  Yes, we do accept all insurance plans and will be happy to file your insurance claims for you, however we are only in network for following specific plans: Delta Dental, Met Life, Cigna, United Concordia and Premier Dental and Guardian, and Humana PPO Preferred.

Q: What is the difference between Lumineers and veneers?

A:  Lumineers are a brand name/proprietary name of a veneer product, just as Chevrolet and Honda are brand names of cars.  Lumineers claim to fame is no preparation, no pain, no sensitivity.  While this may be true in some cases Lumineers are not the “do all cure all” for cosmetic dentistry cases.  In my opinion, Lumineer type veneers may be appropriate in only 20% of all veneer cases.  There are other super thin veneers that may provide a better result than Lumineers, ask your dentist!  Dr. Bill Dorfman of “Extreme Makeover” fame has been quoted as saying “No preparation, No gain” regarding the finished results with no preparation veneers.
